AG Investigates Whether Campground Residents Can Vote

The investigation started after the Freedom N.H. town planning board agreed to extend stays at Totem Pole Campground from six to 11 months and a campsite resident's attempt to register to vote in Freedom was rejected.

An agreement between the town and campground residents states that the park is meant for temporary stays only and prohibits its residents from establishing residency in Freedom. The agreement says camp ground dwellers are not eligible to register to vote, register a car, attend school or receive any other municipal benefits from Freedom. Full Story...
