Ski Bums... Older, Wealthier, RVers

Ski bums used to live in vans, or room with other young people. Today, some ski bums in Colorado's high country are living in plush recreational vehicles, and are far from young.

"All the comforts of home," says Ken Hilt, 38, who moved to Breckenridge along with his 35-year-old wife, Becky Bowers and their cat, Chester. The couple left everything else behind in Wisconsin for their 34-foot RV, with three slides.

"Quit our jobs, sold our house, bought a truck and trailer, went to the closing in the truck and trailer, then went west to Colorado," says Hilt. "We do work a job, almost 40 hours a week. It's terrible. We have to work at least four days a week," laughs Hilt. Full Story...
