As retirement nears, these couples feel lure of open road

The trailer or the motor home may be the last frontier of America, the ultimate tearing loose -- just pack up a few pairs of jeans, some shirts, CDs and DVDs and a bunch of food and take off. When it gets dark, simply park, watch the stars for a while, pull the blinds and go to sleep. It's the freedom of camping, but without the ants.

And much of it is done by people who have that great luxury of time -- the retirees, or almost-retirees such as Ben and Georgia Fuller, both 58, of San Jose. He has about four more months -- "I'm selling my insurance agencies and moving to the next place" -- and she has until December, when she's going to pull the plug from her job at IBM. Full Story...
