Many RV owners preparing to hit the road despite fuel cost

Many RV owners plan to use their vehicles more this spring and summer than last year, despite higher fuel prices.

About 70 percent of 444 RV owners surveyed by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association in March — as gasoline prices were climbing — said they planned to use their vehicles more than in 2004.

Roughly 27 percent said their use would not change, and about 4 percent said they would use their RVs less.

Retired farmer Phyllis Kahler and her husband, Edward, aren’t planning to make any changes to their RV use this summer, even though gas prices nationally are averaging more than $2 a gallon. Full Story...
