Florida Campground lures families with amenities

This is always a tall Find a spot for a weekend in the Florida Keys that is fun, child-friendly, boat-ready, do and not too expensive. We'd tried a couple of small motels in the middle Keys in years past. But none matched the fun we had recently at Fiesta Key Resort KOA — a 350-site campground sequestered on its own 28-acre island in a relatively sleepy section of the middle Keys near Layton.

The Fiesta Key staff politely explained the island campground offers a lot more than a place to pitch a tent and a bath house. The campground has its own marina, boat ramps, boat slips, boat rentals, a "kamp" store, a grill/pub, a small beach, a playground, a basketball hoop, table tennis, horseshoes, bike rentals, a swimming pool overlooking Florida Bay, hot tubs and a small snorkeling area.
