Long Time RVers Love to get in a Jam

Marge and Elmer Kriesel have been motorhome dwellers for the past 24 years, spending every November–April in McAllen, Texas. There, they discovered, “jamming,” an informal gathering of musicians of all caliber of talent, is a favorite pastime.

“It’s quite a thing in Texas,” said the guitar-playing Elmer, 79. “You might have 50–60 people playing.”

Marge and Elmer’s love of music is life-long.

At age 11, Elmer sold garden seeds to buy his first guitar. He was inspired by his cousins, Molly and Dolly, the Sunshine Girls, who sang with cowboy legend, Gene Autry.

Shortly after Elmer and Marge were married, they paid Molly and Dolly’s parents a visit and who should drop by, but the legend himself. Even today, Marge and Elmer are still quite taken by the memory. Full Story...
