RV Resort Opens on board Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach

Active, reserve and retired military members alike celebrated the opening of the Seabreeze Recreational Vehicle (RV) Resort, June 23, at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Calif.

The $4 million project took six years to design and build and benefited from the combined efforts of the almost every department onboard the weapons station, including Public Works, Environmental, Morale Welfare and Recreation and Force Protection, as well as a number of civilian contractors.

Each pad is 50 by 20 feet, which is about 10 feet larger all around than the standard RV pad, Gordon said.

Lynn Custer, a retired Marine and member of SMART, said he was impressed with the design of the resort, especially the large cement pads that give guests plenty of room to pull in and set up camp.
