Cool down motor home’s taxed engine
Q. I bought a 1979 Dodge 440 motor home from an estate sale. Despite sitting for 10 years, it’s in decent shape except for an overheating problem.
I’ve had the radiator boiled out and replaced the upper and lower hoses, the fan clutch, the water pump (twice), and the thermostat (four times). I’ve also removed a core plug from the block and reverse-flushed the engine. It overheats on the road, and it overheats at idle. I’ve confirmed the gauge is accurate; a thermometer measures 230 degrees at the upper hose. Get The Answer
