Boomers come to the Pittsburgh RV Show to buy the ultimate retirement toy
There is so much stuff at the 2006 Pittsburgh RV Show, it could use the guy with the monster truck voice to advertise itself: "Motorhomes, travel trailers, park models, fifth wheels, conversion vans, pop-ups and much, much more! Can you handle 500 RVs crushed into 320,000 square-feet worth of showroom?!!"
RV show manager Jillian Costic has worked the Pittsburgh RV show for 30 years, and she fully admits that this year, "We're out of room." Costic said the show moved into the new David L. Lawrence Convention Center in 2003, which more than doubled its showroom capacity.
Just how many local people are willing to check out a potpourri of camping-industry eye-candy for hours on end? Costic expects 20,000 to 25,000 people to visit the nine-day show, which ends Sunday. Full Story...
