RVers Find A State Park To Call Home For Christmas

SARASOTA - Christmas Eve has always meant a gathering of wanderers, and tonight, under a circle of old oaks not far from the entrance to Myakka River State Park, they will come.

About 6, someone among the three dozen or so resident volunteers at the park - retirees from Maine and California and Ontario and Montreal - will decide it is time to get the bonfire going.

Others will emerge from their tinsel-trimmed trailers two by two, carrying lawn chairs and red wine in tumblers, maybe dragging a bit because it's been a long week.
