RV campground opens on Navigational Canal
The Port of New Orleans will be home to the city’s newest campsite, New Orleans RV Campground. The 20-acre site is on the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, one of the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina.
Phase 1 of the five-year project consists of 52 40-foot-wide RV spaces with a laundry and bathhouse for $750,000. Additional phases call for a total of 150 RV spaces and the construction of a marina, hotel and restaurant so the campground can “one day become a tourist destination,” Delesdernier said.
