Motorhome Fire Closes California I-5

A fire that started on a motor home spread to the grass Sunday morning Closed Californa's Interstate 5 and backed up holiday traffic for miles.

The motor home had reportedly caught fire just before 10:00am on northbound I-5 just north of Vista del Lago Road in Los Angeles County. But the fire then traveled onto nearby grass, jumping to both sides of the freeway.

Both south and northbound traffic had been closed in the Lebec area for a couple hours until the fire was put out. Lanes began opening at about 12:00pm.
