LAKE OF THE OZARKS - It's not much more than what folks back in the 1930s might have referred to as a speck on the road, or in this case, along the banks of the meandering Osage River.

Bagnell, located off Highway 54 at Route V in Miller County, is steeped in history. Less than 20 minutes from Osage Beach and Lake Ozark, visitors will experience a step back in time to a way of life that once existed along the banks of the Osage River.

A highlight of the trip will surely be a visit to Camp Bagnell Restaurant ('Where the locals go'), owned by Jerome and Patricia Schulte. It is a laid-back dining experience specializing in some of the area's favorite dishes. Catfish and barbeque are two of the most popular dinners ordered.

Just across the street from the restaurant is Camp Bagnell Campground and next door is the Lazy River RV Resort.

All three campgrounds offer visitors an alternative to the resort-settings and are especially appealing for those looking for a quieter and more secluded vacation experience within easy distance of all the amenities Lake of the Ozarks has to offer.
