RV Club hosts fishing derby as fund raiser - Munster,IN,USA

Indiana Travelers Chapter 96 of the Indiana Good Sam RV Club hopes to lure fishing fans for a fundraising tournament Aug. 11 at Last Resort Campground near Hanna, Ind.

Although entry to the contest is free, donations will be accepted. Judging is from 6 to 7:30 a.m., from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Although all fish will be released, a grand prize will be given to the first person who catches the albino fish.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to support efforts to save trees in seven counties in Northwest Indiana under quarantine because of gypsy moths, emerald bore and other pests, according to chapter member Nancy Mills.

The owners of Last Resort have donated a free night of camping. That evening, after all scores have been tallied, Chapter President Al Mills will present awards and prizes for first, second and third place to children 12 and younger. Another set of prizes will be go those 13 and older, including adults.

The tournament is open to anyone who is staying at the campground. Make a reservation by calling (219) 797-2267.

The chapter held its first fishing tournament last month at Caboose Lake Campground.
