Race Fans Reminded of Campground Fire Safety

In a few days, race fans from all over the country will be filling the campgrounds at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Concord fire officials want to alert fans about the water restrictions.

The fire department will canvass the speedway’s eight campgrounds, handing out fliers and reminding race fans that due to current drought conditions, ground fires will not be permitted but campers can continue to use above ground stoves and grills.

All campers are urged to keep fire extinguishers handy because they say there is not enough water available to handle a massive blaze.
