Rhode Island Campground Reservation System Now Online
PROVIDENCE, R.I., (AP) -- Rhode Island's campsites can now be reserved online. A new system allowing people to reserve campgrounds through the Internet went online Wednesday.
Until now, campsites have been on a first-come, first-served basis. It costs $9 to make a reservation online. The price of renting a campsite, $14 a night, will remain unchanged.
Those who don't want to pay the fee for an online reservation can still show up at a campground that day in hopes there are available sites.
