RV venues are 'major players' for big-stage names

Mary Ann Tuttle waited in line four hours to buy tickets to the Smothers Brothers concert later this month.

She scored front-row seats at the Valle del Oro RV park in Mesa, excited to see the folksy comedy act made famous in the 1960s

"We're blessed to have first-class entertainment come to our park," said Tuttle, a 74-year-old grandmother of eight.

Celebrities who might be past the pinnacle of fame used to have only two dependable venues to perform for faithful fans: casinos and county fairs.

But, across the Sunbelt they've found a new outlet with just as many frenzied fans: RV parks.
