RVIA reports decrease in November RV shipments

RESTON, Va. -- Total RV shipments were down another 9.9 percent in November, according to figures released today by the RV Industry Association.

A total of 21,500 units were shipped in November, compared to 23,300 units in November 2006. For the year, 331,000 RVs have been shipped to dealers, down 7.1 percent from the 367,300 units shipped during this time last year.

Towables hold the largest decrease in shipments, down 11.3 percent from last year’s numbers.

All travel trailers shipments fell to 169,200 units compared to 192,400 units shipped in November 2006. Fifth wheels held steady with 5,500 units shipped, still down 8.6 percent from last year.

Folding campers and truck campers were also down from November 2006. Manufacturers shipped 27,100 folding campers, compared to 31,900 units. A decrease of 7.9 percent for the year, 7,000 truck campers were shipped, 600 short of last year’s units.
