County Changes Zoning Rules for Campgrounds

PRESTON -- People who want to build or expand a campground in Fillmore County can now do it, but they will have new rules.
The county board voted 4-1 Tuesday to approve a change in the county's zoning ordinance. The vote ends a one-year moratorium on campgrounds that was put into place nearly a year ago.
The board decided to stop campgrounds, planned unit developments and subdivisions to give it and the planning commission time to update the rules. It approved new rules for the developments and subdivisions last summer.
