Review: Costanoa Campground on the Califronia Coast

Situated in a strategic triangulation between California's Ano Nuevo State beach and Butano and Big Basin State parks, Costanoa is a campground with a unique business plan: "We're the only thing out here in a ring of b-list destinations.

It is a place that can be almost all things to all people, and where anyone can find a near perfect weekend getaway, at a place which is close to everything cool, and also close to home. Almost. Near. Close. Costanoa provides a decent experience for 14 different classes of traveler. They really do specialize in everything. And if they are not outstanding in any aspect, they are to be applauded for being above average across the board. Plus, they've got the whole coast to themselves.

Canvas cabins are sprinkled throughout. Screw it, I want a hotel room with a balcony, so I can look down on all the people who are camping. You want the main lodge. And on and on.
