Additions, Improvements at North Dakota State Park

The start of the camping season may be more than a month away but several improvements are already under way at Fort Stevenson State Park.

Perhaps overshadowed by ongoing construction of the new Fort Stevenson Marina are boat ramp and campground improvements. While the new marina is scheduled for a spring 2009 opening, other projects should be completed within the next few weeks.

In the campground, workers have nearly completed the second phase improvements to the new North Loop. All 30 sites now have sewer, water and electrical hookups. Only some backfill work remains. The partially completed full-service area was first opened in 2007 and proved to be in great demand throughout the summer.

“All of the new sites should be fully up by May 15,” said Messerly.
