Camping in the Upstate of South Carolina

It’s about that time of year when we start looking to the outdoors with longing and anticipation, waiting for the time when we can explore the wild with reckless abandon.

The Upstate of South Carolina is rife with prime camping spots and some of the most spectacular sites that Mother Nature and park rangers have to offer. But the real questions raised by this need to “rough it” come in the following two: “Where should we go?” and “What should we bring?”

Ask yourself how far you want to get from home, what kind of camping you are doing (full-on roughing it, mid-grade luxury or top-o-the-line RVing/Camper-style) and who is going with you.
