Lawsuit Claims Western RV Failed to Pay Rent

YAKIMA -- While no one wanted to confirm whether the company-wide layoff is permanent or temporary at what was once the valley's largest employers, court documents filed just days before the shutdown indicate the business failed to pay rent for several months last year.

The recent news seems to be a far cry from when Action News first covered Western Recreational Vehicles three years ago. Back then, company leaders described a cinderella tale: a family owned business that grew into one of Yakima county's most succesful companies.

Court papers filed as recently as last week explain Western RV owes its former landlord more than $400,000 in back rent from March through July of last year.
