Motor Home Maker Thor Industries Sales Down By 10 Percent
Thor Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of motor homes, travel trailers and motorhomes, posted a 10 percent slump as against last year's in its preliminary sales results for the third quarter.
Sales declined to $707 million from $790 million. Analysts had expected a $744 million revenue for the period.
On Friday, Thor dipped $3.28 by 11 percent to $27.45 in the New York Stock Exchange composite late in the afternoon. The trade was the biggest plunge for Thor since August 2002.
Recreational vehicle sales dropped 12 percent to $600 million from $684 million. Bus sales, however, was slightly up by one percent to $107 million from $106 million.
Thor's product line includes Four Winds motor homes, Airstream trailers and Champion mid-size buses.
