Greenbo Lake State Resort Park Plans Partial Opening
GREENUP, Ky. — Greenbo Lake State Resort Park will open its renovated campground Thursday. The campsites will be available without reservations on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 3 p.m.
The state Department of Parks calling it a partial opening because some sites are not available until the formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 1.
The campground has 58 sites with utility hookups and 35 primitive sites and features sewer hookups for 22 sites and two ADA full-service sites. The ADA sites have paved surfaces and sewer hookups.
Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is on Ky. 1, 18 miles north of I-64 from the Grayson exit, or 8 miles south of U.S. 23, the Country Music Highway. The park has a 225-acre lake for boating and fishing, 25 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding and an amphitheatre for music and plays.
