RVer drives burning motor home away from daughter's house

Canton Repository - Canton,OH,USA
CANTON TWP. Joe Mozie was just about ready to leave for Alaska. He'd loaded his 1995 Winnebago for the trip after visiting his daughter at 1500 Howenstine Dr. SE. That's when he noticed smoke.

Mozie grabbed a fire extinguisher and emptied it on the blaze. He thought the fire was out.

Then he saw flames shooting through the roof of the motor home.

Realizing his daughter's home was in jeopardy, he leaped into the burning Winnebago, started the engine and drove it away from the house.

Firefighters from Canton Township and East Sparta were soon on the scene, but the motor home was devoured by the fire.

A cause for the blaze had not yet been determined.
