Slowly putting the pedal to the metal

These were not your typical driver’s education students. Then again, this was not your typical driver’s ed class.

About two dozen novices, mostly retirees with no fixed address, learned the finer points of driving a motor home last weekend during the Escapees RV Club Rally at Cam-plex.

The $250 class was tailored to those who had never been behind the wheel of an RV, said Dennis Hill, the “dean” of Dick Reed’s RV School LLC.

“We take somebody with no experience whatsoever and in three and a half hours they know how to drive it a lot safer,” Hill said.
