Peterborough, Ontario - Fresh start for Beavermead Park

Kawartha Media Group - Peterborough,Ontario,Canada
This summer marks a fresh start for Beavermead Park and the drama that surrounded the grounds last season now seems far away.

The Freeman and Hunter families pulled into the park on Sunday and head back home to Quinte West today (Friday).

"We're happy with it, it's awesome," says Shani Hunter, who is camping with her husband and five-year-old daughter Madison.

Cindy Freeman is camping with her husband and their two children Jarrett, 12, and Chelsea, 13.

"The park staff are really nice. We would definitely come back her in a minute," she says.

Ms Hunter notes with Ecology Park, a soccer pitch, and a playground, the campground is great for kids.

The park has been upgraded this summer, with improvements to the washroom facilities including re-tiling of the showers, painting the bathrooms, upgrading the lighting as well as the sinks and taps.

"The campers are much happier having staff their they can rely on. It's much cleaner, it's been well maintained. Everything is being run better than before."
