Neighbors win fight to move motor home

HAVERHILL — Lexington Avenue residents last night won their battle to force a neighbor to remove a large motor home from their street.

About a dozen of the residents attended the City Council meeting to support a proposal for a tougher ordinance prohibiting people from parking campers, motor homes, tractor-trailers and large boats on public roads for long stretches of time.

The residents said a large motor home permanently parked in front of a home on their street is an eyesore and poses safety risks for school buses and children in the area near Hunking Middle School. They also complained of rusty extension cords coming from the vehicle and said the owner is unresponsive to their concerns, despite the fact his home includes a large garage where he could park the camper.
