Great Smoky Mountains National Park Campgrounds Close Saturday - Raleigh,NC,USA
GATLINBURG, Tenn. — The approaching winter season has the Great Smoky Mountains National Park closing some facilities and roads.

Seven of the park's 10 campgrounds will be closed Saturday.

The Cades Cove Campground in Tennessee and the Smokemont Campground in North Carolina will remain open through the winter, but will have self-registration.

Hours will be reduced at the visitor centers and some roads will be closed during November.

The Park's two main roads, Newfound Gap and Little River, will remain open throughout the year, except for temporary bad weather closures. Newfound Gap is U.S. 441.
