It's workers' home away from home

Brenda Aubie leaves her camper trailer at Rockwood Park campground to take her recyclables to a bin. Her husband, Calvin Smith, is an electrician working on the LNG plant and they have been living in the campground since August.

She spends a good portion of her days walking around its trails, not to mention eating, sleeping and generally living in the park. For the past three months she and her husband, Calvin Smith, have called the Rockwood Park campground home.

Smith is currently working as an electrician on the liquefied natural gas project and the couple - who own a home in Bathurst - decided to live in their camper trailer while he's working in Saint John.

They're not alone because approximately 100 trailers and RVs are currently renting space in Rockwood Park and approximately 95 per cent are workers from out of town, said Geoffrey Spear, superintendent of the campground.
