Public Meeting to Discuss Fees on Federal Lands in Nevada

A public lands recreation subcommittee is to hold a public meeting to discuss fee proposals on some federal lands in Nevada.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas at the Gold Coast Hotel Casino, 4000 W. Flamingo Road on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A meeting notice was published in the Federal Register Oct. 1.

The subcommittee will discuss proposals to increase fees at campgrounds managed by the U.S. Forest Service in the Ely area and at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas. The subcommittee will also review a proposal to initiate a meeting room reservation fee at the California National Historic Trail Interpretive Center managed by the BLM's Elko District Office.

The subcommittee consists of representatives of the BLM's three Resource Advisory Councils.

The group has responsibilities to provide advice and recommendations on recreation fees and fee areas for federal lands in Nevada managed by the BLM and the Forest Service.
