Judge Rules Park Model RVs Subject to Real Estate Taxes

An Armstrong County, PA judge has ruled that three trailers should be subject to real estate taxes, upholding a decision by the county's board of assessment appeals.
The three trailers are park-style RVs used by families for weekend or summer getaways. The families filed a petition with the Court of Common Pleas for an appeal of the board's determination.
Judge Kenneth Valasek stated in his opinions that, because the owners have added porches, steps, landscaping and outdoor lighting, the mobile homes are more of a house than a recreational vehicle. He issued three similar opinions on the appeals.
