Startup RV company hopes for new era in industry

ELKHART IN — There may be new signs of life in the ailing RV industry. A new startup RV company slated to start production this week could signal a turnaround in the industry.

“We are extremely excited to bring a new product to the industry and start from ground level,” said Steve Crawford.

Crawford and three other partners have spent the last three years creating their new company — EverGreen RV.

They recently bought a building from Coachmen Industries. Inside, they're gearing up to make a lighter, more durable travel trailer.

“I think this is a great opportunity to start a company,” he added. “We're excited to start from ground level. We don't have a lot of luggage, to say, we can bring some of the good workforce with us.”
