Sioux Falls to limit time campers spend in city campgrounds

Sioux Falls Argus Leader - Sioux Falls,SD,USA
The Sioux Falls City Planning Commission on March 4 approved a new ordinance that will limit how long campers can remain on a single spot in three city campgrounds.

City Planning commissioners past the ordinance in a 6-1 vote, and the measure now moves to the city council for approval. If approved by the city council, the ordinance would limit a camper’s stay at city campgrounds to 180 days.

At the March 4 meeting, Shawna Goldammer, the city’s zoning enforcement manager, said the ordinance is needed to help keep campers from remaining on a campground indefinitely.
