New upscale RV resort opens Michigan

DALTON TOWNSHIP -- Duck Creek RV Resort, the upscale campground across Riley-Thompson Road from the entrance to Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park opened Friday, a week before Michigan's traditional camping season begins on Memorial Day weekend.

Where: Across Riley-Thompson Road from the entrance to Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park, Dalton Township.

Rates: $40 for the early season, Friday through June 25; $49 for the busy season, June 26 through Sept. 6; and $38 for the late season, Sept. 7 through Oct. 24.

The 157 sites -- all with paved pads for the RVs and full hookups for utilities -- and most of the amenities are already ready for customers. The amenities include a heated, duck-shaped pool, clubhouse with a game room, laundry facilities, large playground, a camp store, shower facilities and basketball, shuffleboard and volleyball courts.
