Recreation rules set for Colorado's San Juan National Forest
The Durango Herald - Durango,Colorado,USA
Three areas have been closed to dispersed camping outside of campgrounds to stop natural resource damage.
No dispersed camping is allowed within one mile of either side of Transfer Campground.
No dispersed camping is allowed along the entire length of Joe Moore Reservoir Road (National Forest Road 693).
No camping is allowed within 300 feet of the Box Canyon, Gold Run, Sharkstooth, Chicken Creek Ski and Echo Basin trailheads.
A free travel map illustrating the new regulations is available at the Dolores Public Lands Office or San Juan Public Lands Center in Durango.
