Bring your home with you... RV lovers say

“Get your motor runnin’, head out on the highway, lookin’ for adventure and whatever comes our way.”

It could be the theme song of every RVer, though it’s not likely what Steppenwolf had in mind when they recorded Born to be Wild in 1968.

But the pull of the road, and the freedom that comes with it, is what attracts most recreational vehicle dwellers. And despite the price of gas, it’s a relatively cheap way to go.

“It’s freedom. It’s comfort. It’s nature,” said Doug James, who along with his wife Karen developed Shuswap Falls RV Resort.

The Jameses have a 45-foot Class A recreational vehicle — an RV that’s built like a bus. They live in it year-round, six months in Shuswap and six months in California.
