Motorhome plunge stopped by rock

AN early morning sunbake at Australia's Mooloolaba Beach almost turned into a tragedy for four young women yesterday when an out-of-control motorhome came to rest just metres from where they were lying.
The 60-year-old driver of Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, Brooke Habner, was attempting to reverse off wooden chocks at the Mooloolaba Caravan Park, opposite the Mantra Resort, when his sandal became caught under the accelerator, sending the vehicle plunging over sand dunes.

A protruding rock was all that stopped the vehicle from ploughing into the girls, who were lying on the sand directly in its path.
