KOA Campground Program for Scouting Groups
BILLINGS, MT (July 5, 2007) – Kampgrounds of America, Inc. has developed a new Scout program to provide safe and affordable camping to Boy Scout, Girl Scout and Girl Guide groups throughout the United States and Canada.
This program allows qualifying groups of at least five Scouts and one troop leader to receive a $5 per Scout/Troop leader rate on tent and RV sites, along with a 10 percent discount on KOA Kabin, Kottage and Lodge rentals at participating campgrounds. The free use of group pavilions and other KOA facilities is also included.
“We are so proud to offer a program that provides Scouts with more opportunities to experience the joys of the outdoors,” says Jim Rogers, KOA’s Chief Executive Officer. Rogers, one of 10 Eagle Scouts in his family, knows that Scouting is all about personal growth. “There are many things a Scout can experience on campgrounds that will enhance that growth,” he said.
KOA campgrounds are an ideal venue for Scouting events. Several badge-specific activities such as swimming, fire safety and wilderness survival can be easily fulfilled on KOA properties.
Victor Arsenault, owner of the Canandaigua/Rochester KOA says, “Scouting and camping just go hand-in-hand. By being able to provide more opportunities for Scouts in our area is a wonderful way to introduce KOA to future generations.”
