RV Education 101 Releases Two DVDs to Clear Confusion on RV Towing Options
Fayetteville, NC, March 4, 2008 -- RV Education 101, a video and RV Information Company, releases two instructional DVD's covering the intricacies on all aspects of RV towing. One DVD, titled Towing Behind Your Motorhome, covers everything the consumer needs to know about safely towing a vehicle behind a motorized RV; and the other, titled Trailer Towing, Weights, Hitchwork & Backing, clears up all of the confusion on towing travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers.
Mark Polk, the owner, stated "Weight and towing issues are probably the least understood topics among the RV consumer. Towing a trailer, or a vehicle behind a motorhome, can be an enjoyable experience if you have a proper match between the tow vehicle and trailer, the proper hitch work and you're educated about weight ratings and how to tow. That is the goal with our towing DVD's; to educate the consumer on towing and weight issues and help them make informed, educated decisions, so all of their RV experiences are enjoyable."
The thought of towing a vehicle can seem confusing, almost overwhelming. I have seen many accidents just waiting to happen with motorhomes towing vehicles. There are several reasons for this, like: the tow vehicle exceeding weight limits, tow bars not properly set up, no supplemental braking system on the towed vehicle, towed vehicles without the proper modifications and much more. Polk goes on to say, "Unfortunately I have been involved in several legal cases, as an expert witness, where individuals were paralyzed and even killed due to a lack of education and safety awareness on towing issues and concerns. One common denominator in these cases involves improperly matched tow vehicles and trailers. Towing a 3 or 4 ton trailer with a mismatched truck or with improper towing equipment can have a horrific result."
The same problems can result when towing a vehicle behind a motorhome if the consumer is not educated on the subject, and not aware of what options are available. Polk said "The thought of towing a vehicle can seem confusing, almost overwhelming. I have seen many accidents just waiting to happen with motorhomes towing vehicles. There are several reasons for this, like: the tow vehicle exceeding weight limits, tow bars not properly set up, no supplemental braking system on the towed vehicle, towed vehicles without the proper modifications and much more."
A Highways Magazine Product Evaluator, Mark J. Thomas gave this review: "Towing Behind Your Motorhome" is a good DVD for new RVers and those who are unsure of salesmen (high pressure) and are looking for broad ideas for towing and other accessories. It is much more detailed than I had expected and is an excellent source for beginners to full timers. During the presentation there were numerous web sites for braking systems. Best of all I can watch it over if I missed important information. It is well worth the price."
Polk also wrote instant download e-books on each of these towing subjects and he included towing chapters in his bestselling book, The RV Book. Dawn Polk, co-owner added, "We don't want RVers to be overwhelmed with their new RV lifestyle. Our goal with all of our products is to teach the consumer all that we can to make their RV experiences everything it should be, SAFE, FUN and STRESS FREE. RV owners can review our RV training videos as many times as needed. We feel education is the single most important thing you can do for yourself."
