Coachmen's Prism Class C Motorhome - Offers luxury in an affordable package
MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Everything about Coachmen's new Prism M-230 motorhome says, "Easy." This is a coach that is easy to drive, easy on the gas and easy on the eyes.
Coachmen builds the Prism on a Freightliner Sprinter chassis. With its length of 24 feet, 11 inches, Prism is a great motorhome for couples or small families looking for a touring coach or an RV for everyday use. The vehicle size and the comfortable cockpit create a driving sensation similar to an automobile or SUV, and its 3.0 L V-6 turbo diesel engine gets an estimated 17 to 19 miles per gallon.
The Prism has a sleek aerodynamic look on the exterior with fiberglass sidewalls, end caps and running boards. While the stylish, flowing lines from the cab to the body and the full-body paint give this coach a definite automotive feel, it is also functional with its 53 cubic feet of pass-through storage.
Stepping into Prism is entering a world of elegance. Coachmen designers searched the salons and design shops of Europe for the styling and appliances for this coach. The elegant Expresso walnut cabinetry and contoured countertops are gracefully curved to give the interior a sensuous, eye-appealing look. Stylish overhead cabinets provide ample storage space, and the soft-touch vinyl ceiling adds to the comfortable appearance. And, all of this luxury comes with a base manufacturer's suggested retail price of $105,000
Coachmen paid attention to all of the details in this coach. For instance, the blinds to cover the cab windshield and windows are built into window pillars. Air conditioning and heating vents are mounted in the toe panel rather than in the floor so they don't collect dirt and debris. The wooden plank linoleum flooring from Beaufloor provides a non-skid surface, even when wet. Optional carpeting snaps into place and is removable for easy cleaning. Halogen lighting throughout, rather than the standard pancake lighting, enhances the coach's ambiance.
Entertaining in the Prism is easy and fun. The galley sink and range are flush mounted with smooth glass covers, yielding extra counter space. The dual sofas in the slide room and the soft touch Euro chair offer plenty of seating, and the standard 20-inch LCD television is on a swivel arm for easy viewing. The cabover bunk can be converted to an entertainment center with the optional 26-inch LCD television, DVD player and Bose Wave® radio.
In the bathroom, an elegant glass vessel sink and modern faucet enhance the sense of grandeur of the motorhome. The curved door to the water closet continues the eye-appeal, as well as providing additional leg room.
Coachmen's Prism is the embodiment of easy. It's easy to drive, easy on fuel and easy on the eye; and it all comes in an affordable package.
